Nigeria: IBB Returns After 3-Month Medical Vacation in Switzerland – Lawanson
Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on Saturday returned to Nigeria after over three months of medical vacation in Switzerland.
According to a statement by his media office, the former military president was received at the Minna International Airport by former Head of State General Abdulsalam Abubakar and family members at about 3:40 pm.
Babangida said he was much stronger and better, thanking Nigerians for their prayers and goodwill messages during his vacation.
Babangida had left Nigeria for medical vacation in Europe on December 12, 2018.
“I am feeling stronger and better now. I must thank Nigerians immensely for the prayers and concerns over my health”, he said.

Ibrahim Babaginda annulled the elections held on June 12, 1993, of which Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO) won the annulment caused so much trouble in the country as of that time.
After two months of strikes and protests over the annulment of the June 12 elections, he decided to step down. Babaginda then handed over the reins of government to Ernest Shonekan and within three months late General Sani Abacha, seized control of power from him to become Nigerian military head of state. Abacha ruled from 1993 till he died in 1998.
